Folia Moss is a sculptural exploration of how the static can come to life. Inspired by the slow and silent growth of mosses, lichens and fungi, the piece captures the silent vitality of nature and its constant transformation.
Composed of more than 4,000 hand-assembled modules (each 3 x 3 cm), the work forms a three-dimensional tapestry that changes with light, distance, and perception. Ten chromatic gradients flow from pale pinks to deep reds, evoking the pulse of life, the passage of time, and the organic rhythms of nature.
Balancing precision and spontaneity, Folia Moss fuses digital and manual processes to create a piece that feels both mathematical and alive. It invites us to reflect on the relationship between the human and the natural: between control and growth, permanence and change.
It is a celebration of the small that becomes big, of the discreet that ends up occupying all the space, of the ephemeral that becomes eternal when it is crystallized in art.
In times where the digital and the ephemeral seem to dominate perception, Folia Moss reclaims the strength of the tangible and the mineral. Their presence reminds us that, like lichen-covered stones, we are all constantly mutating surfaces, living maps of time, light, and memory.
